Every young person deserves a safe place to turn when life at home becomes overwhelming.
At The Teen Emergency Shelter, we believe that prevention is one of the most powerful tools we have to help keep youth safe. That’s why we offer Runaway and Homeless Youth Prevention Education for schools, churches, youth organizations, community groups, and other agencies throughout North Texas.
Our presentations help adults and young people recognize the warning signs that can lead to a youth running away or experiencing homelessness. We provide practical information about available resources, healthy communication, conflict resolution, safety planning, and where to turn before a crisis occurs.
The Teen Emergency Shelter serves youth ages 10–17 in a safe, supportive shelter environment. Our mission is simple: to keep kids safe and off the streets by providing hope, resources, and a path toward stability.
If your school, organization, or community group would like to learn more about runaway prevention and the resources available to families and youth, we’d love to come speak with your group. Together, we can educate our communities, strengthen support systems, and help prevent youth homelessness before it begins.
To schedule a presentation or learn more about our prevention programs, contact The Teen Emergency Shelter at 940-322-7671. Together, we can make a difference—one young person, one family, and one community at a time.

We will be at most “Project Back to School” events if you want more information please visit our booth at these great events!
