This Thanksgiving, the kitchen the Children’s Aid Society will be buzzing. We will have the sizzle of the stove, the aroma of roasting turkey, and the sound of laughter echoing down the hallway. But if you ask the youth who sit around our table what makes the day truly special, they won’t just tell you about the food.
They will tell you about the feeling. The feeling of being seen, safe, and deeply cared for.
A holiday at a youth shelter looks a little different, but because of our incredible community, it will not lack the warmth.
We are pausing today to share our immense gratitude for the outpouring of support that makes this beautiful day possible:
- To our visionary Board of Directors: Thank you for your fierce advocacy, leadership, and for constantly steering our mission forward so that every youth has a place to call home.
- To our tireless Staff: You are the heartbeat of this shelter. Thank you for sacrificing your own holiday time, for showing up with endless empathy, and for creating a family environment for youth who need it most.
- To our amazing Community & Donors: Whether you dropped off in-kind donations or funded a special project or days of care, or sent words of encouragement—you put love into action. You showed our youth that an entire community is cheering them on.
Because of all of you, Thanksgiving isn’t just a meal on a calendar—it is a reminder to our youth that they belong, they matter, and they are loved.
